Cosmarium sphagnicoliforme Van Westen & Coesel 2021

This newly described species was, until recently, incorporated as a small form of C. sphagnicola. It differs in being slightly smaller more rounded lateral angles. It also appears to occupy less acidic waters. Distribution is unknown due to the general confusion surrounding these small cells.
