Cosmarium schulzii (E. Messikommer) F.A.C. Kouwets 2025

An unusual species where the surface granules are partite. Until recently a variety of Cosmarium ordinatum.
Cell dimensions: L: 21-22 µm; B: 21-24 µm; Is: 7-8.1 µm; h: 12-14.1; L/B: 0.91-1.03.
Found in the tychoplankton of oligo-mesotrophic lochs and lochans with aquatics, but rarely recorded.
