Actinotaenium diplosporum (P.M. Lundell) E. Teiling 1954
First described by Lundell (1871: 83, pl. 5: 7) as Cylindrocystis diplospora, later moved to Actinotaenium diplosporum by Teiling (1954: 411). Cells cylindric with slightly diverging lateral sides and broadly rounded apex. Sinus shallow but obvious in most cells. Chloroplast asteroid with one pyrenoid.
Cell dimensions: L: 50-85 µm; B: 21-40 µm; L/B: 1.80-2.40.
Very scarce acidophile of moorland pools and bogs.
