Euastrum coeselii F.A.C. Kouwets 1987
First described and illustrated by Kouwets (1987: 213, pl. 7: 20) and named in honour Peter F. M. Coesel, a Dutch phycologist and desmid-specialist. Both basal and apical angles can support pseudo-granules, best seen in empty cells.
Cell dimensions: L: 15-22 µm; B: 13-18 µm; Is: 3.4-5.5 µm; Th: c.11 µm; L/B: 1.15-1.25.
An acidophile, infrequently recorded in moorland pools and bogs, especially with Sphagnum.
