Staurastrum striatum (W. & G.S. West) J. Ruzicka 1957
Very similar to Staurastrum dispar but with the cells less fusiform, and the angles slightly less acute. Some cells are difficult to separate, and they both occupy the same habitat types.
Cell dimensions: L: 25-37 µm; B: 23-36 µm; Is: 8.5-12.5 µm.
Found in circumneutral waters but infrequently found in the Outer Hebrides.
