Euastrum denticulatum F. Gay 1884

Semicells roughly trapezoid; lower part subquadrate with three lobes including the basal angle, apical part quadrate with a truncate apex and a pronounced notch. All lobes and angles with denticulations. Sinus deep and closed for the most part. Chloroplast axile with one pyrenoid. Semicells with a granulate central protuberance and a number of granules within the basal angle and the apex.
Cell dimensions: L: 21-31 µm; B: 17-25 µm; Is: 5-7.5 µm; Th: 9-14 µm; L/B: 1.13-1.29.
Found in meso-oligotrophic habitats, which are weakly acidic. Fairly common in the Outer Hebrides.
