Cosmarium amoenum Brébisson ex Ralfs 1848

Widespread and common in moorland peaty pools and bogs, especially with Sphagnum. There is similarity with Cosmarium sphaeroideum but that species is a little larger, especially in breadth giving a smaller L/B ratio.
