Phylum: Charophyta Family: Desmidiaceae
Cosmarium pseudobiremiforme F.A.C. Kouwets 2025
A small cell with a linear sinus for the most part, which is usually slightly open, then opening widely. Lower part of the sides of the semicell divergent and about straight, lateral angle on the median line broadly rounded, upper part of sides convergent and retuse, apices truncate to slightly convex.
Single cell dimensions: L: 16.1 µm; B: 17.4 µm; Is: 5.3 µm; L/B: 0.93.
Being recently described its distribution is little known. The original find from France was from a eutrophic lake. The single Outer Hebridean find was from a circumneutral loch.
