Gonatozygon brebissonii var. minutum (West) West & G.S.West 1900

This cell is a small version of the nominate variety. With G. brebissonii taxa, size can be misleading as they are often found in the process of division.
Cell dimensions: L: 74-142 µm; B: 3.8-4.9 µm; Is: 4.7-7.6 µm; L/B: 19-28.
Found in circumneutral waters in a variety of habitats. This taxon is infrequently recorded but may have been misidentified in the past.
